The agreement behind the $69 Scrum Master certification. Last updated October 2026.
These terms govern your use of the Scrum Master Certification offered on this site by [ENTITY — pending] ("we", "us") — taking the exam and ordering the certificate. Starting an attempt, or ordering the $69 certificate, means you accept them.
The exam is free to take — every attempt, every retake, your score and topic breakdown, and the AI study assistant during the exam. Nothing is charged to sit it.
One payment of $69 — charged only after you pass, when you order the certificate — no recurring fees, no membership: a PDF certificate and digital badge, a permanent public verification record, and lifetime validity — no renewal, ever. Attempts are unlimited: no resit fee, no waiting period, no attempt cap.
No training course is a prerequisite: the free Scrum Guide and our sample questions with answers are included as study material.
The exam is unproctored and open-book — 50 multiple-choice questions, 60 minutes, pass mark 60%, taken online from your own computer. You start each attempt with your name and email: a free attempt, email required to start — no payment details before you order a certificate. There is no invigilator and no identity check, so the full name you type at the start is the name printed on your certificate: it must be your own.
Open book is the design, not a loophole: an AI assistant is available to you during the exam, and you may use any reference you like. Memory and recall are explicitly not what we test — the questions ask you to apply Scrum with every tool at your side.
The clock is server-side and starts when the attempt starts. A started attempt counts even if you never submit, and submitting after the clock expires still ends that attempt — you can start another whenever you like. Attempts are unlimited: there is no retake cap.
One named candidate per certificate. You must not share or transfer your exam session, impersonate another person on a certificate, use scripts or bots to access or extract the exam, or try to circumvent the timer or the attempt tracking. The included AI assistant and open-book references are yours to use — its call budget is tied to the email you start with and shared across your attempts — but extracting or publishing the exam content itself is not (see below).
The questions, answers and explanations are our intellectual property. Copying, recording, publishing, selling or distributing live exam content — in whole or in part — ends your access to the exam. The sample questions on /samples are explicitly free to reuse; live exam content is not.
A certificate issued after you pass and order it is valid for life with no renewal fee. We may revoke a certificate obtained by impersonation or fraud, or one materially misused — for example presented as accreditation by an external body, or as another organisation’s credential — and remove it from the public registry.
Full refund within 14 days of purchase: nothing buried, nothing excluded. The whole policy is on the refund policy page.
The certification evidences Scrum knowledge. It is not a licence to practise and not an accreditation — we claim recognition by no external body, and say so on the certificate itself.
The site and the exam are provided as-is. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from your purchase is limited to the $69 certification fee you paid; we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing here limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit.
